Do These 5 Things Now
Step 1:
Choose a Resource
The Marriage 911: First Response Workbook and the Separated and Waiting book are recommended if your marriage is in crisis. Riding the Waves Workbook is recommended if you and your spouse have come through a crisis and are willing to work on the marriage together. Yes, Your Marriage Can Be Saved is a chapter book that can be used in a small group, with your spouse, or read alone. The weekly videos are recommended with whatever resource you choose.
Step 2:
Put a 12-Week Plan Together
Whatever happens in your marriage, you must do what it takes to be on a path to wholeness and health. For the next 12 weeks, along with doing your weekly lesson, commit to reading a chapter of Proverbs daily, getting rest, drinking lots of water, and eating as healthy as possible. If you are able, do some form of exercise at least 3 times a week. Let God work behind the scenes and do what you have complete control over: You.
Step 3:
Make a Commitment
Decide today that regardless of what your spouse does, you will do what it takes to be the man or woman that God created you to be. The tools in our resources will guide you.
Step 4:
Pray for Wisdom
Ask 1-3 people (same gender, men with men and women with women) to pray for you to have wisdom during this time. God will give you the wisdom you need if you ask, "If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking", James 1:5, NLT.
Step 5:
Get a Support Partner
Ask a person of your same gender to meet weekly for an hour in person, or on the phone, as you go through one of our workbooks. (The Support Partner Handbook will provide direction.) A support partner can help you stay focused on God and be accountable during this vulnerable time. Please get in touch with us for more information on finding a support partner.
